ARISHTA PANA

Arishta is fermented preparation containing self generated alcohol. The alcohol content in this kalpana helps to digest and assimilate medicaments in the preparation within a short time. It is fast acting and can cross blood brain barrier.

PROCEDURE

To prepare arishta, suitable sugar bases like jaggery, sugarcane juice, sugar, or honey is dissolved in kashaya of raw drugs of the particular yoga and fermented for 30 days in an air tight earthern pot or vessel. The fermentation is augmented by dhataki pushpa or yeast. The prakshepa choorna consisting of spices like cardamom, cinnamon etc are added to bring attractive flavour to the finished product. The fermented product is filtered, clarified and packed in hygienic conditions.
